Pre-Century Century
Today I signed up to the the Tour de Cure in Jacksonville, FL on May 18 as my final big training run before Tahoe. It seems like doing 100 miles flat before I do the 100 miles hilly might be a good idea. Tour de Cure is for diabetes. I joined the Team Red since our daughter Lee Ann has been a Type 1 diabetic since she was a little girl. It is not an easy disease, although technology is much improved.
Yesterday was a total washout here with heavy rains. Today I did 28 miles inside The Landings where we live. Nothing hurts, thank goodness. A guy in a SUV almost side-swiped me on Landings Way South. Since I am President of The Landings Association Board, I couldn't shoot him the finger (no matter how much I wanted to. it is called impulse control) but I did it after I got home.
Tomorrow I have a 6am spinning class. I find them helpful. It isn't quite like being on the road but it helps get the legs stronger and the butt tougher.
